Undercage detailing

Im going to be doing a full detail on my Jeep soon. I got a few questions I was thinking of spraying down all the suspesion components with APC+ 4:1 and scrubbing in the area's I can reach and then rinsing and applying a dressing. I already sprayed the area's with minor rust or discoloration with WD40 three coats actually it soaked in really good and the rust disappeared.

If anyone uses a different method please feel free to share.

I haven't done much undercarriage stuff but for wheel wells, I do this:

-Hose down real well
-Spray generous amounts of Simple Green (full strength) and let soak for about 5 mins
-Take a sponge (its rough texture helps) and scrub in
-Hose Down
-If its clean then dry and dress, if still yucko...
-Spray with TOL's Wheel Wash to break up everything else
-Scrub down with sponge and/or nylon brush
-Hose down immediately
-Let dry
-Dress with Armor All Tire Foam - wait 10 mins and re-dress

Works pretty well for me...Anyone use any dressings that last longer than tire foam for the wheel wells/undercarriage?

Yep,

Engine Kote, while supplies last, works longer than tire foams and doesnt attract dust. I've found Mop & Glo ( or its cheaper no name equivalent) to be an extremely similar formula to EK

I do wheel wells easily, But undercarriage is a little harder to reach to get off all the junk its not really grime just that the suspension components are all dusty etc.

I cleaned the undercarriage of my 4Runner a few weeks ago (along with a full detail). I first rinsed everything out with a lot of water. I then sprayed 2:1 APC+ (a bit strong, but works well) on one part at a time (half a wheel well) and scrubbed clean with a long-handled brush. I also used Citri-Gel in stubborn spots and let it sit for a while before scrubbing. It took me pretty much the whole day to get most of it cleaned (you should have seen the looks I got from my neighbors). By the time I was done, I didn't feel a dressing was necessary since everything came out looking brand new, even the labels on my front shock absorbers came out looking new. I do have a gallon of Engine Kote that's been sitting here unopened for the past 2 months, I'll have to put some in the wheel wells to see how it looks. I can't really help you out with rust because I don't have any experience.

Do you have any pictures. ? I dont think I can get to every single spot with a brush how well did the APC 2:1 do on spots where you didnt scrub. ? My car is a 99" The undercarriage isnt bad meaning no grease spots heavy soiled dirt or road grime it just looks dull there is a white/grey film all over the springs and shocks. I sprayed all the area's that had rust with WD40 generously and they improved greatly.

Sorry, no pictures of the undercarriage and the pictures I have of the wheel wells are pretty distorted. The 1:2 APC+ without brushing does a great job at getting the surface clean, but still leaves behind some road film. If you touch those parts, the film comes off, but your finger is still clean. It's pretty much necessary to brush everything (I did the best I could). I know it's tedious and doesn't get noticed, but I do it anyway. You can always just cover it up with a dressing like the one Griot's makes.

Yeah I know you can barly see it but you get the state of mind that your car is clean inside out and underside and upside down and all around. :) I will spray the bottoms with Engine Kote I have some older Solvent/Water mixed dressings laying around aswell.
