BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Spray Wax

How about noticeable streaking on darker colors Todd? Many times it's a challenge to get just the right amount of wax from a spray to achieve a non-streak shine.

IMO I have notice if it streaks too much then I use too much, use a lite spray and no problems I notice. I highly recommend this product to all if one is looking for a carnuba wax that is so easy to apply and looks great.

No streaking has been noticed at all. We used this product a lot at our DetailFest booth, applying it over Wet Diamond, Crystal Seal, byitself, over polish residue (we used it to remove polish residue) and many times we didn't even come close to letting the product underneath get close to curing. No streaking what-so-ever. :bigups

Man, that's like asking how long a wax lasts or what looks better. It really comes down to ability and technique. I would assume that I could wax a car in about 10-15 minutes with this stuff working at an average pace.

Sorry Todd. Didn't mean to put you on the spot. Just wondered how easy it was to spray and buff....

Just curious....why aerosol vs a spray?

I can't provide any technical insight. But I used the old version when it was available, and the towel just seemed to glide over the paint on the initial wipe.

I know that is rather vague especially since Blackfire didn't make a non aerosol
spray wax to compare it to.

However Meg's used to make an aerosol version of Last Touch and I preferred it over the regular spray version for that very reason.

This was one of the reasons I asked why it's not done in a pump sprayer?

The aerosol application allows us to pack a lot of carnauba into the product. Aerosols were popular in the pre-VOC days, but as the government began to limit what could be put in a product many of the aerosol's faded by the wayside.

This isn't to say we cannot or won't (at some point) come up with a pump spray wax that works as good or delivers as much carnauba to the paint... Many of BLACKFIRE's loyal customers continued to ask, over and over, when we would re-release the aerosol wax so our R+D went in that direction.

Blackfire has got alot of customers asking about Aerosol Wax these past few months and we're going to make alot of folks jump for joy :yay when it's release!

Todd,

I'm sure you are already thinking about a test between Midnight Sun Spray Wax and your reformulated Polymer Spray focusing on durability, slickness, warmth and all those other factors that BF fans consider important. :inspector:

Dear Todd

We aren't sure right now of an exact date, but I will keep you guys in the loop for sure.

Okay, so there's no exact date, but can you say that it's going to ship this year, before the end of June, or some other general timeframe?

I'm looking forward to trying this even though I'm quite satisfied with Optimum Car Wax.

I am fairly certain that my following statement is likely at least 45% accurate. The Spray Wax will likely be ready prior to June, I think. :rofl

Honestly, that is a fairly safe bet, but I will update as soon as we know a date and/or ready to launch. I try to make sure that the people of AutopiaForums get little sneak peaks when I can, even if we are a ways away from launching.

i still have a can and a half of the old stuff. its very easy to use, spray on lightly and buff. i use it after a wash sometimes if i don't do the polymer spray. i can do a whole car in about 15-20 minutes.
