Hello,

I have come to this fourm with a question. I have a red 1999 sunfire, and it has some spots of what looks like tree sap on it. I bought 'Turtle Wax - Bug & Tar Remover', which says it gets rid of it. However, I washed the car, dried it off, and used some of the product on the spots, and it did nothing.

What I am wonder is, is there something you guys can recommend to remove this safely without messing up my finish??

Thanks.

Go to an auto paint supply store and purchase 3M general purpose cleaner. It seems to be a very effective cleanre, safe for paint.

not a fan but

I'm not much of a PRO products fan but this stuff works pretty good.

In the middle of the page.
Its called tree sap remover.
The guy who delivers it says to put it on a rag and rub the area. I would suggest spraying it on and letting it work a little. That is the way I have used it and have not had any problems.
You'll know when its working cause you'll smell the sap.
You may need to apply it a couple times. Go easy with the towel and dont rub too hard or you could put minor scratches in the paint.
Good Luck!!
