Trim Restorer streaking badly

My L5-S1 is killing me!
I applied freshly shaken TR with a PVA applicator to my Ford Focus exterior grained trim (side mirrors, door strips, etc)


It sat for a day and then it rained and although the trim still looks good, the TR is streaking badly. Any advice?
 
That's it. You need to let the TR sit up on the trim for about 10 minutes and then thoroughly buff off all the residue. If you don't the excess will run off and streak.
 
The directions said "for higher gloss, do not buff" so I assumed buffing was optional. I'll buff next time.

It seems like using a damp MF to buff would remove the excess more than a dry one. Is that a good idea or not?

did the pp work on grained trim? did it remove old wax out of the trim? If so I'll have to give it a try, the wifes Focus has a ton on wax in the trim and it seems like the TR will need a couple applications at least to get the trim back to new.
 
If its the grainy type of trim do not use pro-polish on that. You'll need the TR to get the resdue out.
I alos buff the trim after application

Does one good application and buff with TR usually get all the wax out of the trim for you? Do you buff with a wet or dry MF?
 
that would depend on how old the wax is...sometimes I use an children's tooth brush to get into the grain...

when buffing out I always use cotton ..not mf:)
 
I do what Steve said, I use a tooth brush on the trim and I've yet to see any wax build up that this stuff won't take off
