Removing gum from fabric/carpets

I have been sent a slew of products to test out and one that works exactly as promised is the one in the picture below.

I sacrificed my own carpet for this test, so I hope you all appreciate that:)

First a picture of the product.
 
I chewed up several pieces of gum and then smashed it into my carpet real good. Let it sit there for over 24 hours, more like 48 hours.

The product comes in an odd gel, clumpy state and it looks like dried up ruber cement with broken bits of glass stuck in it.

What you do is take about a teaspoon of the stuff, I may have used a bit too much because I eyeballed it, but anyway you cover the gum completely, as in the photo
 
With the product you get this odd shaped, but very useful little fish looking scraper gadget.

You use the tool to mash the gumbe-gone into the gum wad, mixing it real well and I could already see the stuff working.
 
You let the gumbe-gone dwell for about 10 minutes, maybe longer for a more set piece of gum.

After about 10 minutes I used the scraper tool to work the gum from the bottom up.....the gum was basically emulsified.......I then used a cotton towel to wipe up the gummy residue.
 
After wiping it up I cleaned it with carpet cleaner and a carpet brush. It recommends you extract the area but I did this in my churches parking lot so I had no electrical outlets but it cleaned up easily with out it.

It also leaves a nice scent.....nothing to write home about but not bad either.

I highly recommend this product and I will be using it alot!

Top of the Line will have it up on their site this coming week.

To remove gum from carpet I just use the canned air for blowing out computer internals/keyboards. Just hold it upside down and squirt the gum. It insta-freezes it then use the shop-vac and suck it up as you aggitate and break it up with a table spoon.

No chemicals and environmentally friendly. Air is cheap too.

Well I do not have a MSDS sheet on it but it is solvent based. It almost smells like Elmers glue...kinda weird.

I have also used the Sprayway gum remover but I like this one because there is no overspray.

As soon as I know more about it I will update.

How much does a can of that air cost?

While your method may work it is not cost effective.

I think I paid something like $3 for a can ( Costco) and I use it for the gum.. cleaning the computer K/B ... the inside of the computer and also for blowing out / dislodging bugs etc from around the rear deck/window when vacuuming it .. Multi use and environmentally friendly and color safe for carpets. 3 packs are like $9 .. one for the computer room .. one for the detailing arsenal and a spare ..

I have one .. I use that for blowing out left over hidden water after a wash .. before the polishing .. but it won't freeze anything. Small one 2 HP / 6 Gal 120 PSI.
