SSR1 and SSR2

Is there a problem using SSR2 on a white LC pad? Will this cause more problems? Should SSR2 be used on a minimum of LC yellow pad? Should you only use PP or SSR1 on just white pad?

Thanks

Brian

You can use SSR2 with a white LC pad...but I feel it just doesn't have enough cutting power for a mid-level abrasive product.

Is there a particular reason you want to use the white over the yellow?

Bests,
Chris :)

I used it yesterday on a car and it seemed to haze up even more so than using yellow pad. This is the reason I was asking

My "guess" to the hazing is probably due to the polish not breaking down properly. If I'm not mistaken, the SSR line has "diminishing abrasives" that break down as you work the product.

Maybe a higher speed "5.5" or higher with the white or switch back to the yellow.

Bests,
Chris :)

:yeah ...you definitely need to work it at a 5-5.5 range and work it until it basically disappears and a clear shine emerges..

Yes, the hazing comes from not working the product enough. And, on my Civic, I found that I liked SSR2 with the white pad better than the yellow pad.

I always prefer to use polishing pads vs cutting and let the product do the cutting...if problems are deeper than you think, then sometime you do need to use more agressive pads and then move down in agressiveness like you would with polishes...

I've used them both today, on the Mazda I had from the insurance company.

First I used SSR2 with a rotary and orange pad. After cleaning the surface with FI, I followed with a white pad and SSR1, again with the rotary. I toped it with EX-P, the result came out great, very wet and shinny:cool

I see people talking about cleaning in between coats...

What is the differnce between S&W, Clearkote quick shine, Meg quick detail, Meg final inspection, and meg final detail? When would you use which?

Thanks

Brian

Spray and Wipe is a waterless wash product. You can wash a dirty vehicle with it and not have to use soap and water.

I think all the others are quick detailers. Ok for dusting but I prefer S&W and I don't use any other QD product. The S&W is so versatile that I see no need to have buy other stuff.

I've used all of these products. Their suitability between coats depends entirely on the other products you are planning to use. Final Detail and Quik Detailer have silicones which may create bonding problems for some products. I don't believe Qwik Shine contains silicones, but it does leave behind some gloss enhancing ingredients. Once again, that could pose a bonding problem for some products. For the safest course of action, I would choose to use either Spray & Wipe or Final Inspection.
