My Other Latest Project

I spend some of my time in a hobby other than cars. Interestingly enough I always end up using car chemicals for the other things I do, whether in the home or on a project. Quick Detailer (QD+) on the finish works as well as gun oil in this case, Natural Look Dressing on the plastics, Mobil 1 as an assembly lube. I'm posting this for the benefit of Jared Pointer, AudiBoy, BeemerBoy and of course Poorboy (they're huge firearm fans). :D This is a parts gun I've just completed. Built it from scratch. It took me about 5 months in the current political climate to round up all of the parts to assemble this rifle. Bolt Carrier Groups, Barrels and Lower Parts Kits are tough to come by these days.

Nice red x's.
Or is it a stealth weapon? :)
Either your pictures didn't link or my computer is blocking them.
Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. :rofl

Yeah, I get a series of red X's too. Must be the political climate. Whatever that means :hmmm:

Edit: Fixed now, the climate must have changed.

Not taking any jabs here. This simply means that since our leadership has changed (actually since the election) AR 15's and their parts sales have gone through the roof (whatever the reason). There is a shortage and parts have been hard to come by. Just a little trivia but I read a notice at one of the local stores the other day that said the big 4 ABCD (Armalite, BushMaster, Colt and DPMS) were behind 1,000,000 rifles that had already been bought and paid for.

I'm doing two more LAR Grizzlies as we speak. Got very frustrated trying to get the paint to stick in the roll marks on one of them today. I ended up getting carb cleaner out and blasting back to black. First one I've failed trying to fill.

Well just a reminder, it was during the previous administration's term when certain ammunition became scarce.

Yes and it's still getting worse. You can't find primers or powders to reload at the present time. There was a directive given to the military to dispose of it's once fired and surplus brass instead of selling to the civilian re-manufacturer's. A couple of senators got wind of this and had it changed within about a week. Reloading was the redeeming grace for those that couldn't get ammo, not so now.

I had to come out of hiding on this one. VERY NICE GH! Thank you for sharing with us!

P.S. I'm liking your signature also.

Very nice rifle! I'm sure it was pretty frustrating trying to get ahold of those parts. It is a bit rediculous how much they're selling for now. That thing looks perfect though. You really went all out. Now you just have to put those rails to use with a nice scope or red dot. Let us know how it shoots. Btw, I'm surprised you didn't take a look at this guy being the gun nut you are:

Nice Benneli, I'm not sure how I missed that thread. I've got a Leupold Red Dot sitting right here but have been holding out for an EOTECH. So yeah, it will have optics.
