Le Bello Ferraris presented by Bella Macchina

Todd@RUPES

Just a regular guy
Still trying to get caught up on click and brags (or trying to add a couple cars a day until I start to get caught up).

First up is a 1989 348 who belongs a great guy and a friend. This lucky Ferrari recieved our Perferzione Finitura (perfect finish) service which included over 25 hours on the exterior (which it needed all of) and our Trono Del Re interior service which is a concours level interior service with leather rejuvination by way of Leatherique.

The exterior and paint was trashed on this car, with RIDS and deep marring every where from 20 years of improper (not Bella Macchina standard care) washing, waxing, etc. Unfortunately I cannot alway document the work because of time constraints.

The only 50/50 I have. Doesn't come close to doing this terrible condition of this car justice.

When a client order's one of our exclusive services that can rest assure that every square inch of the car will be taken to our standard.

Here is a video clip walk around of the 348. The particular LSP used on this vehicle can streak or "sweat" as evidence on the passenger side of the hood (it is normal for this LSP). As expected the finish is flawless.

The next Ferrari on the list is a 550 Marnello. Originally designed to replace the Testarossa, this Ferrari pays homage to the classic front engines V12 cars of Ferrari's past. I have been lucky enough to drive (pretty much) every model of modern Ferrari and can tell you this car fits me best (plus it has a clutch!). I can attest that in first and second gears the massive rear tires (335's I think?) stand no chance and leave thick black streaks on the pavement (and a lot of blueish smoke). Also clicking through the traditional gated shifter as the V12 spins to stratospheric levels will give anybody goose bumps.

Lots of swirls and rids in the before picture...

Here is one of the cars we detailed for Cavallino (one of many). It is a 365 GTC 2+2 and one of the most gorgeous cars I have ever had the pleasure to work on. It featured a concours level detail (precursor to our Bella Firma).

Last up for this thread is a 360 Spider which recieved our Massima Brillantezza or maximum gloss package. The Massima is a perfect entry into the world of Bella Macchina and features a light two step correction/jeweling to remove wash induced marring and bring the gloss up to a very very high level (rivaled only by our Executive Packages). The car came out 95 percent defect free but I cannot find the pictures in my folder (I have a lot more, sorry)

I cannot understand when you say the 50/50 doesn't come close to doing this terrible condition of this car justice, red is really one difficult color to capture defects using a halogen light.

Great job as always and all the ferraris look fantastic :2thumbs: .

Seems like by the time you are done catching up on C&Bs we will have seen every Ferrari in Florida.

Excellent work on the 348, the paint on those is particularly tricky. They make 360 and 430 paint look simple in comparison.

Im kind of confused with this statement, I saw the video and couldnt notice any streak or "sweat". Can you explain me? I mean, what do you mean by "sweat" and what LSP was this?

Sweating is typically a quality of all natural LSPs like Zymol or Swissvax. Standard carnubas have a base primarily made up of solvents, and as they cure the solvents evaporate which leaves the surface with a chalky looking finish. Those that are based on all natural oils like pineapple, coconut, and sunflower, don't have those solvents to evaporate. Instead, they "sweat" which means that the oils secrete themselves from the surface while the wax cures. The LSP is applied, and then removed. But typically as it cures to 100% there is residual oil to be removed.

So I am guessing Todd used one of those as an LSP, although I am not totally sure. Typically though, that is what "sweating" is referring to.

looks great! cant wait to see some more every day.

On the 1st testerossa, did you polish the strakes behind the window by hand or by polisher?

@ TH0001/Todd--

Exactly how did you work your way into such exclusive jobs??? Did it grow by word of mouth? How did you get your name out there?

I'm STUNNED at the level of cars you work with--then again, there is a wealth of them in your area.

Awesome as usual.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!! I love seeing the same people view my threads over and over and never leave a comment! Haters make the world go round :D Also I wonder if these are the same guys who email and PM me with one post telling me how I suck?

The paint looks a little streaky on the passenger side about 3/4's the way up. Jon explained it perfectly!

Thank you for the very kind compliments as I take them to heart. It is nice to hear kind words about something I put my heart and soul into.

Honestly I started off doing regular cars and busted my butt with a determination to be the best. I know a lot of guys on here (I get a lot of hate emails/pms believe it or not) think I just lucked in to doing nice cars and commanding a premium but I worked my butt of and my work is amongst the best wether my haters want to admit it or not.

There is also the ignorant misconception that these cars are easy to do because they are Ferraris and not driven but again if that makes the haters sleep better at night then fine. I still do daily drivers on occasion and can say with absolute certainy that they are easier to do because the expectations are so much lower. Also daily drivers create an excuse. How many posts on here say "we decieded to stop because I didn't want to remove so much clear" or "this one wasn't really comming out" but the poster has no paint gauge and really doesn't have the skill to make a car perfect. Our clients demand perfection so we don't have the benefit of excuses, we make paint perfect, period.

I have tried to make my posts informative and share what I have learned from busting my butt and real world experience but even though my methods are copied (first to use M105 a lot and the very first to start using UF, which is now one of the most popular finishing polishes with any regularity) I am still hated. I guess I am venting but the point is that I earned my clientele by constantly trying to improve myself, doing 1000s of hours of research, etc and turning out top notch cars constantily.

Of course this post isn't directed at you, but after getting a ton of hate mail lately from autopia's finest, I really am done here. Like me or not I turn out some of the best work on car's that my hater's probably shouldn't even touch.

Thanks for the support guys it has been a fun ride!!!

Jealousy is a terrible thing. Try not to let it bother you Todd. I hope you change your mind about leaving, but if not, thanks for all of the great C&Bs and the knowledge and info that you have shared. It is GREATLY appreciated (by most of us anyway!).

1. i feel like an idiot. I guess i skipped the name of the ferrari. I have to do more ferrari research...

2. did you just say you are leaving us at autopia?

3. What exactly is a string buff.. wait its just a stringy pad correct?

4. after reading your post about how you just simply busted your butt... i know that is also true, however i know for a fact you used your head in more ways then a hat rack to get the clientelle you have. You are one of the smartest business owners i have ever met (sorry... steve jobs does beet you).

5. AMAZING WORK(!)

6. dont let the haters get you down man! "those who can, will. Those who cant will tell you why you cant".
