Deep Scratches in Plastic Bumpers

Just One More Coat
I'm working on my Sis-n-Laws Toyota Highlander.

Its white and has some down to the black plastic scratches. I told her that I would do a best effort but you would still be bale to see the mraks.

I plan on filling in with some light primer to set the area up. Then fill in with layers of paint.

Question should I water sand with 2000 grit paper or use compounds to leverl the paint.

Thanks

use the paper and you might want to do it dry so you can see where you are..remember the base coat should be thin and then the clear is whar you really need to level off....coat after coat ...

So far I have the paint built up pretty well today I'm going to sand then use some 3M light cut compound to smooth out. Apply the clear coat in layers and level with compounds.

Well I got the paint sanded down pretty much to the level of the car, and the crappy touch up paint does nto match the car. You still can see where they are at but at least it is white some what. They where happy as I detailed the whole car so it looks new again.

I have a friend that always does touch up paint by going to Home Depot, having them match it, and then getting the type of paint he needs. Still doesnt work right though.
