Strange name, ain't it?
Howdy folks! Back from vaca and getting through 346 emails and countless posts. Wish I could say it was nice to be back but hopefully you'll understand if I say I wish I were still down at the NJ shore. Very relaxing and theraputic.

Sorry to say my fishing plans fell through miserably :( . I had arranged for two days of guided salt water fly-fishing in the Barnegat inlet. Weakies, blues and stripers were supposed to be the catch of the day and since I've never fly-fished salt water before I was really looking forward to trying it. Much to my dismay, the tidal gods were not with me. On both days swells on the inlet were up to 3 feet and winds were at over 20 knots. Anyone who fly-fishes knows that makes for extremely tough conditions especially for someone who is trying out heavier salt water fly-tackle for the first time. Basically it turned out to be a bumpy, wet and windy boat ride out then right back in on the guides 19 foot skiff with outboard. Guess it'll be back to the light weight tackle and local streams for me.

On the plus side my family and I had a great week together. No schedules to keep and plenty of time to be together and enjoy the blessings we are so lucky to have. Simple things like watching the kids play on the beach, jumping waves with the kids, boogey boarding, collecting sea shells with my 6 y/o daughter and just plain being silly and free of the daily grind for a week. Really put things into perspective for me.

Now it is back to reality as I've got tons of work emails and assorted household things to do.
