PBL Glass Coating. I think a single spray bottle of this stuff should last an entire family two lifetimes.

I`ve actually come to really like the Gtechniq G1. At first I was disappointed with it but after about a week it seemed to become more hydrophobic and now nothing sticks to my windows. Doesn`t shed water until about 40-45mph but if you hit a bug or something it will clean off almost effortlessly. I`ve actually had some sap and stuff fall off a tree onto the window and a day later drove in the rain to work and by the time I got there the window was clean

    Bumping this thread,

Looking for windshield Sealant or coating that makes bug removal extremely easy. My Brother has a extremely up right windshield and every day when he gets to work it looks like a massacre. Also could/Would you use a bug remover spray to get them of easier also or is that to harsh on dry windshield and with out a rinse after like you would do when pretreating bumper/front end in a wash???????

trashmanssd- I use a "bug sponge" to clean them off the windshield (and only the windshield, I`d *never* touch paint with that thing).

Trashman - I use Poorboy`s Bug squash, and it is pretty dilutable.

If you mixed it pretty weak, and let it soak a bit, a bug sponge would take it off, and you *might* be able to get away with just wiping off after. Probably still have to follow up with windex or similar after, keep it off the paint to prevent it drying / staining, etc.

I haven`t tried this, just thinking out loud.

With the Bug Sponge, I`ve never needed anything other than regular Window Cleaner, don`t even need to do some extra-long dwell time.

Spray enough Window Cleaner on the Bug Sponge to soften it up some, then just use it to clean the windshield in the regular way, using your Window Towel of choice for the final pass(es).

    pbl glass coating FTW
coated 18 windshields and the bottle still feels FULL - 3 squirts to spread across my entire windshield on my frontier

I maintain it with PB Glass in the sun
in the garage I use Optimum Glass Clean and Protect to reinforce the protection

also FWIW I have ONLY used Optimum Glass Clean and Protect on my SRT windshield and it behaves like it is coated (used about half a regular bottle on it over the past two years)
