I have used it, it`s a good product. :up Works well, does not get mushy when using car wash as a lube. It`s just as good, if not a little better, than Mothers.

I love the blue CLAY MAGIC. Find it locally. Great container. Pliable yet stiff. does not break down when used with shampoo solution.

Heck look at the polls there was some great discussion somewhere on this forum.

Would try clay magic if I did not have 100 gms of Meguiars. Meguiars sucks, but it works ok for me.

The polisher with clay is an accident waiting to happen.

I`ve got the blue bar. Very gentle to the finish, and very dense as well. I cut my bar into three or four parts and use Meguiar`s Quick Detailer as lube.

I just washed my car today after a week of hard rain and clayed the exhaust caps. They look brand new!

Of all the clay bars I`ve tried available at the retail level, Clay Magic blue is by far the best. It lasts a long time, too. They also have a stronger red version, comparable to Meguiars Body Shop Version, but not a sticky as the Meguiars. The Clay Magic red, like the Meguiars Pro version are for heavy paint overspray and are overkill for the usual contaminants most cars have.

My friend has been a body shop detailer for over 15 years now and that`s all he has ever used on a full time basis.

I figure if it`s good enough for him and all the high end cars he works on, then I should copy him and get the same results.

It really pulls off the embedded crap!

If I`m not mistaken you can only get this product from a distributor, or from the company. I know that getting the full size block of clay is about $25.00.

This kit is a good deal to get anyone started.

Here`s a good place to get either the kit or the clay it`s self.

    Hope this helps

Hey Steve, i`ve used the Clay Magic blue as well and it so far has been the best clay bar i`ve ever used. unfortunately i can`t find at my local pepboys anymore. the retail kit is the same price as you mentioned - $19.95. however, you could go to www.calcarcover.com and get their $14.95 kit. it comes with the exact same size clay bar but with a smaller bottle of their body shine lube. by the way, their Body Shine lube smells great and works even better.:up

My local pepboys used to carry it too. You would get the clay, QD lube, and a some crappy wax stuff. A great value at the $20 level.

I haven`t tried any Pinnacle products. I tend to prefer products I can purchase at the local level-too hard to run a business with products that may be back ordered or delayed by incompetent mail service. I mostly use Meguiars Body Shop Pro line for most everything anyway.

I have tried the following clay bars:

Clay Magic-best, IMO. Very malliable, long lasting, strong enough for moderate paint overspray. Can be used when washing car-saves on QD. I haven`t tried the red version, but I do know it is meant for body shop use (overspray removal) and I know a company called `Overspray Removal Specialists` use it, and one of the guys I talked to (a company got overspray on a bunch of cars at a Walmart, and his, mine and a couple other companies were called out because of the volume of cars) really likes the stuff, but feels the blue bar is adequate for most light overspray.

Mothers-too plasticky, not very strong. Takes too many passes to remove imbedded grit.

Meguiars (retail version)-easy to mold, but not very strong and tends to stick to paint if you don`t use enough QD.

Meguiars Body Shop Pro version-very strong clay. Will remove even the most stubborn heavy overspray-but extremely sticky. You need to wear the supplied gloves or your hands will be covered in clay residue. Pretty much overkill-but if you routinely face a high level of contaminents in paint or heavy overspray, it is pretty damn good stuff.
