i like learning, lucky me. and yes, after i bought the meguiare`s, i learned from a member of the i-club (subaru impreza rs club, www.i-club.com ) that zaino would do me better and that meguiare`s is just average. now, i am a high school senior, so i don`t have the funds for the whole setup from zaino, (all the dang z`s) but when i can get some cash, i will be going to try zaino, though i should go to zaino after the 3m products or do they have something comparable to the SMR and perfect it? i will try to drop in on the chat, just took a nap and have homework to do, but as long as i remember, i`ll be there

I don`t think Zaino has anything that removes swirls, I know Z5 9is that the one) can help fill them.

I`d try 3M Swirl Mark Remover (in this case, the one for dark paint, they make 2). It`s product number 39009. if after a couple applications they`re still there, try stepping up to 3M Perfect-It II Fine Cut Rubbing Compound (39002). I`ve used both of these with no hazing on dark paints, but your paint might be different. if it hazes, don`t panic, just use a less agressive product (cleaner wax, etc) to remove the fine haze.

Midnight Sun - How many cars ?

I have a jar of Blackfire Midnight Sun. Great stuff!

How many cars can be waxed from just one jar?

I`ve done 5 or six cars (two coats on most of them) and it barely looks like I have used any at all.

Before I bought it, I was a little put off by the price. But, when I consider how little product it takes to wax my cars, it is much cheaper than it initially appears.

Is there a shelf life and does it ever go bad?

    That`s what I`m thinking.

Unless I drop it, manage to contaminate, or somehow lose the jar, I have a supply that will last a long time.

Good question Bill, I`d like to know about this myself.

I would think a jar of Blackfire would probably do about 100 applications, maybe twice that many??? ... it goes on so nice and thin. I just did my truck yesterday with it and barely made the most minute dent in the product... it`s still flat on the top.
Looks so fine over BFWD... great combo!:thumbup:

It will go a long way the Midnight Sun Wax! and the shelf life on any product is how it`s stored and the condition it`s in. It can last up to 5 years if it`s store in the right condtion. But it will start to break down some of it`s chemical properties after a few year`s.............:wizard:

And, what are the best, or "right", storage conditions ?

I would imagine "room temperature" would be a good guess.

I have gotten upwards of 50-60 coats of Midnight Sun from my containor and still have about 30% left, maybe a little more. When applying wax, less is more.
