    Spray on ceramic`s

So are the spray on ceramic`s one step above a sealant? Such as the Meg`s, T/W`s or Mothers vs they`re sealants.....How `bout their sheeting water ability vs sealants? As I`ve read they sheet water better then sealants.

It`s impossible to generalise across two product categories. For example there are ceramic costings that don`t bead, there are sealants that out - bead many ceramic coatings.

It`ll depend on the individual product.

Generally a coating is desirable because of its durability but will require more prep as a trade off.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Spray on ceramic`s

I have used some good sealants in the past. But after trying the TW Hybrid solutions ceramic line, my vehicle has never looked better. And every one has been easy to use. Currently I have on..

    1. Polish & Wax
    2. Spray coating.
    3. Maintain with the WET WAX as a drying aid.

Vehicle has been self cleaning and staying clean longer. Dries off like a dream. And beading/sheeting is insane.

Generally, Felix, the spray SiO2s bead, self-clean better and are easier/quicker to apply than sealants. Sealants generally seem to have better etching resistance/protection and generally last a bit longer.

Looks are so subjective, they look different but both look very nice IMO. Sprays more glassy and sharp, sealants more smooth and candy coated.

    Re: Spray on ceramic`s

Thanx for all your inputs....I`ve been using Griots poly wax sealant on my car which worked & looked great. Sold that & now have a rx for my wife & was looking for a product that was easier to keep clean even thou I buffed it w/ W/G uber using a mf pads followed w/ their finishing glaze & lsp Poly wax. I have added t/w`s ceramic spray last weekend & for some reason it has more pop/bling vs the poly wax on this paint. On the detail image blog there was a sheeting vs beeding water write up, hence the thread I posted.

    Re: Spray on ceramic`s

Ultimately beads that sheet off for the win. The sio2 sealants seem to just be sealants with sio2 added. What’s left behind sio2 wise is about 3-10% of the solids left behind.

Agree with Acura on difference on looks and just like sealants some are better than others.

If your familiar with griots their Ceramic 3-1 is an awesome Sio2 sealant
