2018 Equinox with Collinite 915 + PA Rapidwaxx

Parents came to town for a few days, figured I would slap on new protection. Car previously had PBL Sealant from early February. It was still beading lightly, but mostly gone by this weekend (~7 months).

Washed with Mckees Coating Prep Wash to strip remaining PBL. It did it’s job. No time to do a correction since they wanted to hang out with me (sheesh). Will probably light Polish next spring.

Added the Collinite 915 right after drying. Needed something that will last through upstate NY winter hopefully. Applied thin, came off easy. Let cure for 36 hours.

then added some Rapidwaxx as icing on the cake.

Looks great. How is the Rapidwaxx to work with?

Its easy. Spreads well. Wipes off effortlessly. Just try to clean the towel/applicator right after you’re finished or the microfibers may harden.

Haven`t used over Collinite but used it recently on top of PA Master Sealant. Like most PA stuff, very, very easy to use...a little goes a long way. Can`t speak to longevity but it leaves a really nice feel to the surface and adds a bit of that `PA look` to it. Water/rain speeds/beads off it quite nicely as well.

Wow, you did a great job !!!!
That paint really pops !!!! Beautiful color !!
Doesn`t look like it even needed any polish, etc..

I have always had great results from Collinite products..
Tks for the experimental work with the PA product - the final finish is incredible..

What a nice treat for your Parents !
Thanks for all that hard work, the pics, the editing, etc...

Thanks so much for the kind words, Dan! I had given the car a really quick finishing polish in February... it was rushed. The PBL Sealant did well protecting it since then, and taught my dad the right way to do car washes in the spring. Well he may not follow my steps perfectly, he did pretty well not swirling it up. With that said, I saw a few water spots and noticeable scratches I will tackle next year, but the finish is in decent shape overall.

Collinite is awesome and Rapidwaxx is a lovely topper. Great combo!
