Yeah, heh heh...in the shade it`s not my taste, but once it`s lit up, OH MAN! Completely different story in the light.

One of those Funny Ford Paints IMO...like my Crown Vic`s Smokestone; in some light it`s a yucky beige that I con`t care for, but the rest of the time it`s absolutely what I *DO* want.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but where does the FK1000p name come from ?

I assume this is what I am using, as the pictrues of the can look the same, but the only reference to a number I can find is BWM101 ???

    thanks

    You`re using the right stuff.

The late Floyd Meguiar liked "part number-like" names for his stuff.

The fk won out because of prep time and her car is garage kept, I was a Collinite 845 user but it’s to much of a pain in the ass to use in colder temperatures. I will add a second coat which should get me through the winter at that point I’ll probably do a coating in the spring. With all that being said FK1000 is my favorite until opti gloss was applied to my F-150.
Ahhh, my favorite 2 products.Sometimes I even put FK1000p over the Optigloss as it really makes the Black Metallic paint sparkle, even though it wont last as long, i still get a few months out of it.

I`m still surprised that I ended up liking the look of FK1000P on my Granite (black) Metallic Yukon.

FK1000P looks best on metallics IMO. Its Ok on white but IMO 845 makes white come alive, well as much as you could expect for white.

Dan- That must be eye-of-beholder stuff again (well, heh heh..yeah it is a "LSP preference" thing)...I used 845 on white before I discovered the FK. Either/or will please most anybody and the 845 can also be used on trim. Besides personal preferences, maybe different whites are, well...different...in this regard.

3 Amigos LOL . I love the SRP topped with FK1000. I just recently tried the Megs NXT wash shampoo and man did it make the FK1000 Glow and Shine. Thought that the Megs Wash and Wax complimented the FK so well but the NXT took it to a new level. Mirror Shine with Gloss on all angles.

Dannyzz- Hey, that`s interesting how the NXT shampoo simply *does it* on the FK1000P!

Being, uhm...how I am ....about shampoos, I never would`ve thunk it (let alone tried it), but yes indeed some do really seem to make this LSP pop better/worse.

So how *is* the NXT shampoo? The only Meguiar`s shampoo I`ve ever liked is M62 (though the old M00 was OK for very light cleaning and as a wetsanding lube), and for that price I`d usuallly rather use something better.

    Re: FK1000p Beginner questions

For those who care, 3 coats applied within about 4-5 days barley provides me any better lasting protection than just one single coat. By 2 months the beading & slickness is heavily reduced. My original guess of 3months is way too unrealistic.

I ran out of steam reading all the posts!
Is it trims safe, as in does it wipe off of trim that you get it on by mistake with out leaving the dreaded white residue?

Have anyone used both fk1000p and soft99 fusso coat? What did you think of the difference between them and the longevity from them?

I have not test anyone of them but thinking on get me one of them.
