Say it ain`t so! You should have melted it down- it would have been like new.
With one of my tins, I poured it into an empty deodorant stick- awesome to apply on a machine pad!

Huh, none of mine has ever gone bad like that.

I sold a few tins to some people here recently and it was still OK.

It doesn`t get down to freezing in either my shop or house, but I`ve never done anything special with my paste waxes and I`ve never had one go bad. Some of my 476S has gotten a bit "granular" but it still works fine. Even my stuff from the `80s is still OK and my tins from the `70s appear to be OK (though I haven`t tried using them).

thats a great idea! Ive heard M16 is especially well suited for a machine application but it just seems really difficult to do that with a paste unless you jave 2 people. Im gonna try the deodorant idea! Thanks

I find it easy enough to use by machine even without doing the push-up-stick, but if something makes it easier for ya by all means go for it. Just don`t get it on too thick, don`t over-work it to where it dries out during application, and *DO NOT* miss any spots when buffing it off.

M16 is the "paste wax that turns liquid" and is *GREAT* by machine.

I had one that was like pudding. Melted that in double boiler, that was fine.

This one I was afraid of since all the solvent was at top. Afraid of having a problem and needing to call the guys with the big red trucks.

My wife and I have a hope chest at the foot of our bed. One side of it is dedicated to my car waxes and sealants. It`s completely dark and doesn`t get hotter than 77 degrees. I have quite a few waxes that are going on 6 years old that are perfect and still in use today.

Re: storing paste waxes so they do not dry out

I did have a tin of new finish ? ( the orange tin) that I picked up very cheap go bad. (it was no big loss) It separated and would not mix at all. I only used it on my moms car. The new Autopia stuff ( BF & Pinnacle) is much better and I want to keep it useful for a while. I did put it in a baggie. I used very little this week during the winter prep top coat. Thanks for the answers so far !
