Sorry to hear! My suggestion would be to
immediately stop using the chamois and treat yourself to a nice new MF waffle weave drying towel:
Reason being is, you`re never going to get a chamois as clean as a microfiber towel that you can machine wash after each use.
While you`re at it, I`d also suggest getting a few different color MF`s for wiping down your door jams, trunk lid, and other places grim tends to hide out. This way you don`t run the risk of cross-contaminating your towels and marring your nice clean Jeep!

Another option is if you have a shopvac w/ a blower port, connect the vacuum hose to it (after emptying the vac of course) and use a concentrator nozzle to blow all the water off.
That`s what I use and it works great!

What have you done to try remove the etching so far? Do you have a DA?
