First car wash - a few questions

Hey everyone, it is nice to be here! I hope to learn a bit.

So in a few days, after I get all my supplies, I will be doing my first car wash - a rinseless car wash. I have purchased microfiber cloths, a waffle weave, lawn sprayer, rinseless solution and a few other things. My main questions surround the microfiber towels.

I understand that washing them before use is recommended. I plan on washing them in warm or hot water with a regular detergent and then drying them on low heat or tumble dry. Hope this is the correct method.

I was wondering if I should add the waffle weave to the wash along with the other microfiber cloths. Is it recommended to wash a waffle weave before first use?

I`m sure I`ll have more questions along the way

Once again, nice to be here.

Welcome. I wash them in cold water. I never wash mine before use but yeah you can put the waffle weave in there with them. I always do one load with a small amount of regular non scented detergent and run it a second time with a few tablespoons of vinegar. I tumble dry on the lowest setting but hang dry my waffle weaves.

Here is one thread one them but there are many more out there.

I always wash my MF towels in hot water with a vinegar rinse if I am not using a dedicated MF wash. Hang to air dry and then tumble on low heat with dryer balls. You can definitely put your waffle weaves in with the rest of your towels.

I forgot to mention I only do cold washes when washing MF`s used for rinseless/waterless washes, qd`s and drying towels. I just figure they wash out fine on cold. For polishes, sealants and wax towels I bump it up to warm.

I wash mine in warm to hot. I let the washer fill a little on warm then switch it to hot so the water temp is warm to hot. I do this because my washer on warm is barely warm at all.

If your towels have tags that hang from them tear them off carefully as not to tear the hemmed edges. I do this to all towels before washing them the first time.

I did buy a micro fiber detergent but when it is gone I will go back to Wisk or Tide. I also try to catch the filling of the rinse cycle and put some white vinegar in it as this helps soften up the towels.

I hang mine up most of the time but if I dry it is on low with NO fabric softeners of any kind.

You never wash your microfiber cloths before use or only the waffle weave?

    Thanks.

For what it is worth I wash ALL microfiber towels in cold water when new and dry on medium heat. Many are more than five years old and still look and work perfectly.
