    Recommend best car shampoo?

What is your favorite(s) car shampoo that cleans and does not strip wax? Or is there no such thing?

    Duragloss 901
    BlackFire WD Shampoo
    Poorboy`s Super Slick & Suds
    Ultima Paint Guard Wash

There are a lot of good soaps to suit your needs: scent, price, cleaning, added shine.

    Blackfire Soap
    DDJ Born to Be Mild
    Auto Finesse Lather
    Poorboys

I try to stay on a budget and can`t see spending a lot of money. I have used Turtle Wax Zip Wax car wash. It has great cleaning ability, has a wax to help with the shine, has good suds and lubricity for washing. Call me cheap but I use it and it works for me and can`t see spending $15, or a lot more on some brands, on a pint of shampoo for the car. JMO.

+1 on the Zip Wax. Works great without breaking the bank. Not to mention you can run down the street and pick it up at your local wal-mart.

Ardex foamy car wash. This stuff is industrial strength foaming action yet rinses clean. It makes megs gold class seem like watered down dish soap.

Let`s not forget about dilution ratio`s. Many washes that "seem" expensive are actually cheaper than OTC choices.

No offence intended but this is the car soap I liked least out of the many brands of soap I`ve tried.

    Why, because I felt:
    - It left a film (not wax) on the paint.
    - It didn`t clean well.
    - It doesn`t lubricate as well as all other soap`s I`ve tried (could feel the way the mitt grabs the paint).
    - Smell and dilution ratios were also less than desirable.

    Re: Recommend best car shampoo?

I grew up on zip wax car wash. Today I would never use it as I don`t want the wax getting on my coatings. I prefer LSP safe shampoo. I have used a few and they are all good:

    1. Poorboys super slick and shine. -Still would purchase, great price and performance

    2. Ultima Paint Guard Plus-purchased this when I was using the UPGP and it is concentrated so it lasted longer than the use of UPGP.

    3. Lusso Oro wash-The most mild wash I have found to date. I use it on my cars when they are not too dirty and it seems to extend the coatings and it smells great.

Nothing against CG but the only shampoo I have of theirs is citrus wash and only use it to strip any products on the car when I want to apply fresh polish and LSP. I`ve used Mr. Pink but wasn`t too impressed on a more than average dirty car.

Hey guys, I have CG citrus wash and gloss. Its that the one that strips wax and sealant? I usually mix it one cap full (from the 16oz container) to 4 gallons.
