CG Wash & Gloss is my favorite, the price is decent and it`ll last you ages.

Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss
CG Citrus Wash Red + 1Z W99.
I have been using CG Citrus Wash & Clear -or- CG Citrus Wash & Gloss with the addition of some APC to add in the stripping process.
Another one to look at is the P21S Total Auto Wash, then follow up with a clay bar and BLACKFIRE Clay Lubricant to have it ready for whatever you plan to do.

Chemical Guy`s Citrus Wash & Gloss has been used (in strong dilutions) to strip wax with success for a lot of people.
I like the idea of using a paint safe cleaner like Angelo suggested. P21s Total Auto Wash is a great choice as well.
Here is a great article written by Todd that relates to your question.
I`ll get both chemical guys and p21s. Thanks guys now i can order just those 2 with free shipping.
agree with everyone on the cg wash and gloss but i always add apc to help it. dawn is pretty strong too and certainly cheaper.
I use Chemical Guys Wash N Gloss or Dawn. Both work fine for me.
If you want to strip the old wax off, washing is one part, for me either a clay bar or paint cleaner is what I do. I know that either of these processes will take 100% of the wax off.

Dawn works to an extent but as far as soap go by the advise above. Another alternative is GG paint prep found here Griot`s Garage Paint Prep 35 oz. would be another choice. I have bought a bottle but have yet to use it. Before I did my winter prep about 6 weeks ago I washed with Dawn, that got some of it off. I clayed the car that got some more of it off. I polished the car and followed up with GG pre-wax cleaner found here Griot`s Garage Pre-Wax Cleaner and that pretty much took care of all the wax. Come spring I will use the paint prep to see how it works.
