Best way to clean wash mitt. Please help.

Well like my original plans were, i woke up early to wash my cars. Everything was going fine until I washed the bottom side of my car and noticed I had washed off some tire shine sling and now I`m having trouble removing it from my mitt. Do you have any recommendations on how to remove it? As for cleaning products I have PB BS, window cleaner and quick detailing spray. I`ve tried washing it off with my wash bucket but this stuff won`t come off. Any advice would be appreciated.

spray APC on the spot, rinse and repeat. It might take a little bit of time to get that out.

I`m out of APC right now but sprayed Poorboy`s Bug Squash on it undiluted and it got most of it off by just spraying and letting it soak for 15 minutes. Sprayed some more on it and will let it sit for an hour or two and will see how much it takes off.

    Thanks.

Leave it in your car wash bucket with a mixture of dawn & apc for 30 minutes then agitate, then rinse clean.
Thats a nice looking mit. What kind is it and where did you get it?

Thanks for the tip. It`s a sheepskin wash mitt from P&S Sales. I got it from a local detailer who uses their products.

A good, thorough car wash involves more than simply running your car through a machine. I visited Mothers, well-known manufacturer of car washing and detailing products, to learn how to wash a car the way the pros do it.

Sheepskin/Lambswool wash mitts are quite delicate. I would be afraid that the washing machine could cause it to de-laminate slightly.

Sounds familiar, in between jobs I actually clean one of my buckets out, place grit guard back in and fill it with water to about 2 inches above the guard. Add apc and put the mitt in and drive off. I find that the agitation of the mitt against the G.G. from me simply driving to my next client gets out most everything. Even after I had already cleaned it, I`m always impressed with what I find under the G.G. when starting my next job.

I`ve washed some of my mitts in the washer and they will lose some hair. Some are worse than others it just depends on the quality.

With that said I only wash my older mitts. The nice ones I wash by hand really well in a bucket with some microfiber cleaner and rinse it out. If I get a something stubborn on the mitt I`ll hit I with some PB Bug Squash or APC and let it soak. If all else fails I`ll clip as little as I can to get it out like DC said.

I wouldn`t. I ran mine through the wash machine and it basically fell apart.
