A friend gave me a full bottle of Perfect-it II rubbing compound. Is this stuff too aggresive to use on clear coated cars? For those of you who have it, what could I use it for? Another friend has a non-clearcoated car that`s pretty beat up and old, so could I use this with a wool or foam pad with the PC to remove years (and years and years) of oxidation? Could I use it on a clear coated car? Can I use it for ANYTHING???

It is definitely more aggressive than FI-Ii finishing compound. But if you use it with a foam pad and orbital to get out some deep swirls, you aren`t going to go right through your paint in the blink of an eye. If you limit its use to emergencies - OK to have in your arsenal. It will almost certainly need to be followed by FI-II FC.

    Removing spots from black trim

I just finished helping my cousin detail his 1999 Toyota Camry, but he has some trim by the windshield that has spots that I am unable to remove. I attempted to use APC but it did nothing to the spots, I was wondering using maybe M205 would work? It isn`t a painted trim, but has a slight sheen.

Try using Klasse AIO. It works very nicely on trim.

Unfortunately I do not have Klasse AIO at the moment, but thanks for the suggestion. If nothing else will work, I will probably pick up some.

Sorry, I just got a picture today. It got too dark yesterday to take the picture.

So that looks like a painted surface, next to the window. Or am I seeing something wrong?

The black trim seems to be of a rubberish material, but has a satin finish.

Personally I would try some Meguiars heavy duty rubber and vinyl cleaner, and then try the Klasse AIO.

KAIO will do the job. On trim, I like to put a tiny dot on a wet applicator, or dilute it. KAIO is hard to work with on trim when used full strength, in my opinion. You could probably do some cleanup on that area using a cloth and detail spray, since you don`t have KAIO handy. Take your time since this material is so soft, it is ready to abrade and you`ll replace your shots with scratches.

I don`t think a detail spray will work, but I will give it a shot doesn`t hurt. Maybe I will pick up some KAIO.
