Absorber. Lay it on and pick it up, blotting type method. Pulls all the water right off.

    Airwand

Airwand and plush waffle weave from AG. If the paint has already been prepped by myself just the Airwand and a small Cobra

The original Big Blue was the first (to our knowledge) waffle weave towel sold in the US as a car drying towel.

CMA also was the first company to bring microfiber towels to the automotive market a long time ago. It is part of our history and pretty cool to think about it.

If it wasn`t for Jack spilling coffee on a table and picking up some prototype towel, we might still all be using chamois

I think im going to have to try out the big blue! The one im using right now is a blue ww from ADS and im not happy with it. Seems to just drag the water across the paint and pick up very little.

Because of this I have to rush around the car with the first towel, come around and try to get everything with the second and quick detail where i wasnt quite fast enough. Its a little frantic when doing it

I`m not noticing too much consensus on one "superior" towel. Big Blue III is obviously popular here, but has anyone compared it to what I`m using now (water magnet)?

Haven`t compared the Water Magnet but that`s just because what I have works so well, there`s been no need to try anything different. I`ve got the original Big Blue, a Big Blue II and a couple of Sonus Der Wunder Drying Towels. I believe they all are roughly the same material but the Sonus Towels have the silk edging. I usually do a final sheeting rinse of low flow water then use one drying towel to dry the paint and windows and a separate pair of all-purpose waffle-weave towels to dry the trim, door jams, inside the hood and trunk and wheels. I`ve found that washing my towels using Charley`s Soap Liquid Laundry Detergent and an ounce of All Purpose Cleaner gets my microfibers really clean and they have retained their wicking abilities over the years.

I have tried perhaps a half dozen different waffle weave drying towels. My favorite by far is the Ultra Soft Micropak Waffle Weave towel from Pak Shak. They are thin but they absorb more than you think they will ... and they are so very soft.
