It`s pollen season - what do you guys do?

Ok, pollen season is upon us and you can wash your car in the morning and have your car dusted in pollen by early afternoon. This is everyday. So do you simply accept is as inevitable, shrug your shoulders and ignore it, use a detail spray everyday, chance using a California Duster? Speaking of using a CD, if your car is coated (mine is - Nanolex) and perfectly clean - as in washed and garaged, would the CD induce any swirls, or is this the one (or few) times a CD is a proper choice?

    I HATE calif dusters......

Rinseless wash IMHO is the way to go for pollen. Pollen is very abrasive.

As much as I want my vehicle to be clean; during pollen season I simply "suck it up" and let the pollen as is untill I can do a proper wash usually once a week. Personally I don`t like waterless or rinseless washes for pollen as I want to fload as much of it off as possible with water.

I wash once a week, or maybe more often, if the pollen is to the point where I can not take it. There`s always the option of waiting for rain, which we`re getting today, to rinse the pollen off, too.

Rinseless wash as frequently as I want it clean. Takes 15-20 minutes to rinseless wash my truck.

I take it as long as I can stand it (usually a week due to the fact my work schedule only gives me time Sat/Sun to PROPERLY wash a car). I`ve noticed though that between the McKee`s 37 Paint Coating and the Meguiar`s Fast Finish on the car, almost all of it will `rinse off` in a heavy rain, or a good blast with the hose.

Wash it when I can, and try to ignore it when I can`t. Man, I can`t wait for pollen season to end... I got detailing to do!

Re: It`s pollen season - what do you guys do?

I don`t do much of anything except maybe wash a little more often if a pollen-covered vehicle gets rained on. Well, rained on enough to look [crappy] but not hard enough to wash that pollen (mostly) off.

I thought I`d have to wash the Tahoe when it got coated with a thick layer during a recent dog-outing, but all that pollen blew off (FK1000P of course) and it didn`t need it after all. Didn`t even stick to the running boards much, which really surprised me (they`re slimed with Autoglym`s Bumper Care, but it`d had a couple weeks to really dry.. might`ve been a mess had it been fresher).

Cry and complain. Lol. Pine pollen here is the "yellow menace". I`ve been doing rinseless washes every other day, but it`s a hopeless cause.

In Vegas pollen is crazy. You just walk around all day with the "Here`s comes a sneeze" face but it never comes. Then you get to your freshly detailed, pollen covered car....eye roll. My favorite is when it comes through the vents because it`s already freakin` 90 degrees and now pollen covers your gauges...nav...pissin` me off.

Bob, nice to see you here. Since you`ve had your car coated, I don`t think I`d sweat it too much...I just wait for the season to pass and hope for more frequent rains. There`s only so much we can do.
