I should be able to have enough practical experience with these machines to give a qualified opinion a year from now. Will see how they fire up next year after sitting over the winter. I`ve always used pump conditioner but sometimes pumps don`t like sitting.

You`re referring to the various "pump saver" sprays, right?

I use the Briggs version often in my gas washer, which has an AR pump. I know pump savers` application is winterization, but I also know that standing water can foul up a pump. One second of the pump saver spray blows and foams out the water left in the pump and probably leaves behind some sort of film that resists the formation of mineral deposits from any residual water.

I wonder if it`d be wise to close off the inlet with a hose end cap after using a pump saver.

Jaddie, yes the winter anti-freeze type products. One thing of note, my gas pressure washer relies on pressure to feed the pump and therefore can`t completely pump itself dry. These electric units will pump out of a bucket with no pressure on the inlet side. It will therefore blow most water out by itself. It seems like there is less of a need in this type application but of course the manufacturer still recommends it be used. I`ve always just picked this up at either Lowes or Home Depot. There are a variety of brands I`ve used. I`ll probably just order Karcher`s brand through Amazon. It`s the same price and they can`t come back on me and say your pump is destroyed as it froze over the winter. Can you tell from that statement I`m a bit gun shy?

Just so we`re on the same page here, being an AK fan doesn`t make one clueless. I have almost as many AK`s as I do AR`s and I`m not admitting to anything. Clueless? Well depends who you talk to.

Gee, between three pressure washers and those ARs/AKs you`re pretty well equipped for dealing with, uhm... all sorts of stuff.

Well, my Karcher finally died...

After some research, I decided to go with an AR this time:



Because I like how the cord and hose roll up... Also, no special adapters needed for foam cannon.

Supposedly the best electric consumer model they make...

We will see.

AR is a good brand. My Generac gas washer has an AR axial pump.

Sears just offered a Pulsar for US$54.xx. I`ve paid that much for a trigger for my washer, and my washer is a cheap washer.

I think so...Its called a "Clean Supreme 2000". I don`t think any of these electric machines are very loud. Anyway, it`s coming Friday, planning on using it to wash the BMW Friday night.

This isn`t some high dollar machine - it was $199.

But, it seems to be better the. The electric offerings at Lowes / HD.

It has a soap tank with adjustable ratio and a soap tip. I`m going to try to just put some good car wash soap in the tank to see if I can avoid using a foam cannon - or I`ll use it to develop the Swanicyouth Wash Method (SWM).
