Nanoskin wash mitt, time to get a new one?

So I just used my nanoskin wash mitt on my personal car and after doing the entire car I noticed the paint still feels gritty. I have no idea how many cars I have used it on at this point. This is my first nanoskin wash mitt and it`s about 2 yrs old. The odd thing is that I felt the mitt gliding across the paint with less resistance as I used it and it glided back and forth nice and smooth but when I touched the paint it still felt gritty. I`m going to assume this an indication that it`s time for a new one?

Why not purchase a new one of the same and compare? You`ll need to replace the older one sooner or later

See if that kit is still available they had listed on Ebay. Maybe you`ll get a deal if it didn`t sell.

That`s awesome to hear it lasted you around 2 years. Any guess on how many cars you used it on?

I only detail part time, so I would say between 30-40 cars in the past 2 yrs. I used it yesterday with Duragloss 902 and it definitely did not remove the grit. Nansokin is definitely faster, but I feel clay does a more thorough job.

I did a side by side test on the hood of my MB which had moderate overspray. Half was done with clay and half with Speedy Prep Towel. Both performed equally. Used each on the other`s side to see if additional contamination would be found/removed, but no such luck. For me, both performed about the same.

I agree with you. I have done a side by side test and a clay bar pulled more contaminants vs the nanoskin. After using the nanoskin, I went over the area with clay and it still picked up more contaminants.

If you are looking for best results clay bar wins every time. If you are looking for speed nanoskin wins every time. If you are doing an all in one nothing wrong with Nanoskin. If you are doing full correction especially on a black car, Clay IMO is the only way to go.
