    Re: Recommendation on drying towel?

52split- I *can* imagine what you`re saying about some MF Drying Towels being "too grabby" if not using some kind of drying aid. And for the umpteenth time- yes *yes* *YES* regarding not wanting them too big and/or too thick.

Heh heh, and then of course I see plenty of people *do* prefer the huge ones!

The whole thick/weighty issue reminds me of how, IME, people who want 900gsm bath towels/washcloths usually haven`t actually lived with them for long, though it might not really apply here...

I have been using the Korean made microfiber items from the rag company. The edgeless plush 16x16 is $4.40 when you order 11. They sell Chinese edgeless plush for $1.55 ea, but I cannot vouch for them.

I have some from China, they aren`t bad. Great for a budget but the German Mm are the best imo. I have almost half a grand in towels lol, they are all awesome.

Everybody seems happy with those edgeless Eagle ones from The Rag Company, does it work OK for you as a Drying Towel?

I haven`t used the Eagles for drying but the Avalanche works great with those long fibers, they get into places the Dry me a River waffle weave does not.

Ordered a couple more Dry Me A a River Jr`s and an Avalanche today. So easy to dry with multiple quality towels.

They work best for rinseless washing. But they dry ok if you are planning to use them that way.

The ONLY way to get all standing water is air, no towel can get in behind markers, lights, door handles an mirrors. Any blower will work.

Are there any disadvantages to air drying the entire car that a towel can overcome other than noise?

They had a deal A few months back and I bought 25 orange ones and use them for everything. They work great, but I use an electric blower first before towel.

No disadvantage if you can really 1) air-dry the whole vehicle (easiest if the LSP cooperates), and 2) the water is low in Total Dissolved Solids (mineral content/etc.).

"Hard" water can evaporate (yes, car is dry) leaving mineral deposits behind (uh-oh). Note that as long as you blow the water *off* the vehicle, that won`t be a problem, but IRL it might not work out that way and the evaporating water will leave behind whatever was dissolved in it.

Disclaimer- I do blow-dry my vehicles for the most part (but usually follow up with a towel and drying aid), so I`m certainly not knocking the approach. But I have good water and my LSPs let the water blow/roll off for the most part.

    Re: Recommendation on drying towel?

I use my cordless leaf blower around trim , wheels , doors, head / tail lights. I then use my dry me crazy first doing windows to get a little damp then finish up car with a spritz of detail spray when drying.....
