Formerly the "Best Detailer", now just Super Wax Waster Man. Not necessarily tactful, but normally right. It`s good to be da King !!!
I bought the truck in January. With some reservations, I got the Auto Armour rust proofing and undercoating. However, by spring I was noticing some bare spots on the frame and fender wells. I spoke with the salesman who introduced me to the subcontractor that does the work who said "no problem, we`ll respray it." So I took it in, they had a look and said "this is really dirty under there, we`ll have to rent a power washer."
Say what?
I tell `em I have a power washer at home...I`ll go home and power wash it and come back. I power washed it really, really good (took off some more of the coating), took it back and had it resprayed as i watched. In talking with the guy, I learned I could bring it back annually for inspection and respray at no charge.
footnote: Hindsight is 20/20. I recently learned about lanolin based Fluid Film and if I had it to do over, I think I might go that route instead (even though Fluid Film would require an annual respray).
Update: I`ve used Fluid Film for a couple of external applications and although I think it would work well in internal nooks and crannies (like inside doors, rocker panels and such) it doesn`t stand up to weather very well on external surfaces. I`m not sure it would be the best undercoating product.
