Yes, another order for a PC here, arrived Monday with no duty :-) My SSR2.5, 1 has been sent from John @ C&S so hope to have a go this weekend!

It will be interesting to see how I get on with the paint, knowing that on my Audi it is very hard, read alot already and keep reading, may have to come back for some pointers on technique!

I have to say that write-up on the first post was great almost made me want to fly over and give it a go just to see if I could do it. Well fellas, keep up the great pics and write ups from the other side of the atlantic.

This is a cool guide, I got my PC from Autopia about a year and half ago and remember spending ages trying to find a transformer etc... this guide would of been a BIG help.

    Hijack from Belgium...LOL

I have already a rotary but want to try out a PC for a mong time now...

Ordering is no problem, the only thing I have to find out is how many watts that PC has to order the right transformator.

They have diffenerent sizes but the one the "advised" me weights about 15 kg`s, has a capacity of 1000 watt`s and is NOT water resistant (as the yellow one you guys have)

Currently you can buy a PC with 5.5 in pads at autogeek for less then 130$ but it`s that transfo that bothers me.

Other option is the Makita B06040, at a cost of 500 € !!!!

Must add that I`m very skilled with a rotary so maybe it"s a waste of money, I really can`t think that a PC will be quicker then my rotary....

    Great guide... really useful!

Ordered my PC+SFX pad kit from autopia-carcare on Friday and ordered the transformer gear from screwfix this morning for a cost of £46. Should have it all by the end of the week. Cant wait to get my hands on it

Total cost of kit and transformer is somewhere in the region of £169 depending on exchange rates!

I`m pretty sure the PC is approx. 330 watts.

The transformer you`ve been advised to get, sounds like it could be similar to what a few of us UK Autopians have purchased. Mine is a 1000kva transformer so there`s plenty of power on tap for the PC. I`d say the minium you should be looking at is around 750kva.

This is the transformer that I have...
