I like Stoners MSLT. I think they changed the formula if it`s water based now. I did have some issues with sling on the older version.

    Re: STONER more shine

I`ve used it for years, and like the shine a lot. I find the best way to apply is spray on and then use a foam paint brush to even out. The shine can last up to two week IMO but I clean and dress my cars once a week. So I can`t speak to durability

It doesn`t turn gray or brown in the rain which is a plus IMO as well.

If your looking for a good OTC tire shine this one works well.

Thanks for your review. How would you compare this product to PB BnB?

I have used both for years, they are very comparable in all ways to me. That`s why I have both here in case I run out of BnB. I prefer the BnB but that`s because I`m a poorboys jar head, love his line up.

    Re: STONER more shine

FWIW, after using the new water-based MSLT I inquired with Stoner`s on what the deal was. Here`s the substance of the reply:
    ************************************
"The product you recently purchased retail is most likely item number 91086 or 91084. As you observed, it is not the original item 91044. What you have now is a water-based product. The original is solvent-based. In the simplest of terms, we were forced to reformulate the product due to the most recent CARB regulations. The California Air Resource Board determines that certain products cannot be shipped into their state if they contain certain raw materials or no longer meet VOC requirements. Because our retail store customers are not willing to ship specific versions of product to different states, they now only purchase the new version to go to all states."

"The good news is that we still make the original for our business to business and consumer customers. As long as your shipping address isn`t in California, we can ship the original to you."

"A case of 12 cans of the original 91044 is $40.87, or $3.40 per can delivered."
    **************************************

I buy MSLT at Summit Racing near Akron, OH. They still have 91044, solvent-based on the shelves. I personally prefer the solvent-based for longevity as I only reapply when the tires need a vigorous brushing or the WOL sidewalls need Bleche Wite. YMMV.

used the 91044 this morning. IMPRESSIVE SIR! nice even coat. high shine with one coat. appears to dry almost on contact. sling? dont know yet. too sunny to get a good pic for you.

if this works out, this will be my new "go to" tire dressing. i see you can save $ and get the 12 can case.

i dont see how a tire could be dressed better? might be too shiney for some. this was stoners SOWA.

glen e, i see they also make a trigger spray version. wonder how that compares to the aerosol?

    Re: STONER more shine

The real beauty of this product is that it is so versatile. Tires, wheel wells, engines, black air dams, and on & on. I have not used the water based product but ordered the original by the case before stepping away from detailing. In fact I just did my last full detail this past Saturday......Black CTS inside & out, it made for a VERY long day for this old fart. The joy isn`t there any more so I`ll just keep our two cars presentable from now on.

I`ve never had it sling but I always started with wheels/tires then went to work on the interior. By the time I was ready to do the exterior it was completely dry and stayed put.

Perfect spray solution for RWL and WOL, IMO. I use a MF to wipe overspray off the wheel then give the tire a light wipe before MSLT dries for a dark matte finish. The tire looks more `new` rather than shiney-dressed that way. Personal preference.
