    Re: dupli color tire shine.....

I wouldn`t mind trying it if it were not so shiny. I like the clean look but don`t like the glossy look on a tire. As mentioned above it you could wipe it down when wet to give it a little mat look I would like it. I tried a sample of some gel that came with the goody package from a car show I went to and can`t remember what the brand was but I know I am staying away from gel from now on. Wiped it on and of course you have to wipe all the lettering well the texture of the lettering holds it and you can`t wipe it out to save your butt. Tires has a mat kind of wet look to them that was kind of nice. Well when I showed up at the car show stuff in the lettering on the tires slung off onto the paint and of course made some nice streaks in the tires and it sure attracted a lot of dirt. Not sure if it was 3M or Surf City Garage but I will never use gel again. I will stick with Turtle Wax Tire shine tires have the clean look and not overly wet look and they actually stay clean and not stained for a long period of time.

    Re: dupli color tire shine.....

Just wanted to give my review of Dupi-colors new tire shine.
I`ve been using this product for roughy 3 months and I have to say I`m a huge fan! This is definitely a high gloss product and a little time consuming but it`s worth the time upfront for 2-3 weeks of lasting product. Even after a few rain storms and 3-4 washes, tire shine remains in tack for weeks. I use an entire can on my 35" tires but I can get roughly 3 applications from one can on my wife`s car. Here`s my steps:

Step 1 : Degrease and clean Tire (the cleaner the tire = the better the result)

2: Tape off rim for overspray. This product is more like Clearcoat than tire dressing. Overspray was VERY Minimal though and dries completely.

3: One Light Coat, followed by 2 Medium Wet coats. 5 mins between coats and done

Overall my tires look awesome and I finally do not have tire dressing all over the side of my truck. I don`t care what the other brands say, I always have some type of dressing on the side of my truck.

If anyone would post what one coat looks like ,I would love to see that!

Maybe the shine lessens after a few days too??

Here you go DC. I split out the previous post to have separation so you could see the difference. He actually had labeled them but it got lost because of no spacing.

What a mess, if this stuff is anywhere close to it stay away!!!

I am surprised to see these results with the Platinum Tire Shine! Is this the newest formula (with wax)? I am not getting anywhere near that kind of durability from it. It totally wears off in 2-3 weeks for me. And I don`t get the plastic look either. I would rate the Platinum average at best in terms of looks and durability.

I really do like the super high gloss look of the Duplicolor and may have to try this. The Tuf Shine is the best tire treatment I`ve seen so far. I put it on my snow tires and it easily lasted through the entire winter!

I like shiny paint, not tires.
