Brushed exhaust tip yellowing - Product suggestion

I got a new vehicle with brushed exhaust tips that are yellowing. It seems like simple washing method can`t get rid of these yellow spots. I see that P21S is very popular. Will this get rid of yellow spots? Also, has anyone tried CG`s products? I need to order something from CG and prefer to order one of their products instead of P21S if they are equally good. If not, I will get P21S. Lastly, any sealants I can use for exhaust tips? Thanks!

Step away from the Chemical Guys - nothing they make is close to P21S.

P21S MSFR is the more aggressive product that will remove just about any exhaust blemishes.

The P21S PS is a maintenance / second step product.

Been using this combo for years.



The PS is messy, so I don`t use it when doing a rinseless wash - I`ll use Nevr Dull for a touch up.

I came up with a way to polish exhaust tips that works great. Basically, you get the smallest Wheel Woolie and stick it in a drill and use it as a polishing stick with the MSFR.

The aggressive wool fibers combined with the MSFR clean just about everything off of burnt exhaust.

Always do a test spot by hand first.

It seems like P21S MSFR is good for other things such as wheels as well. Have you used it on wheels? My wheels need some help as well.

I have Opticoat on paint and wheels. I don`t think it matters but just want to throw it out there.

Just a question. Does a turbo cause the exhaust tips to burn/yellow more than a natural aspirated motor? I notice it more on my wife`s Juke than on my Z.

No. You shouldn`t use it on anything painted.

Discoloration is directly related to heat. I would think that by the time the exhaust stream hits the exhaust tip on many cars it isn`t significantly different temp speaking with or without turbo. I do know that some turbo`d cars use exhaust shielding quite far back on the exhaust system so perhaps the temp is higher on some vehicles. That said, a shorter exhaust system may have some effect on this.

Just a thought, if you`ve got discolored pipes ask a Harley owner what he`s using to keep the blue off. In fact I think there are a couple products called Blue Job and Blue Magic that are good at restoring the look. I believe they use different formulas depending upon whether the metal is chromed or aluminum, stainless.
