For wheels this bad, you should be busting out an acidic cleaner after 5 minutes.

No disrespect intended, but why didn`t you just use Iron-X from the start? I have never heard
of Optimum Ferrex, and you are obviously a pro, I don`t understand how you went through all
of those steps to clean those wheels, when if you had just used Iron-X, you would have saved
yourself an awful lot of time and effort. The wheels look great by the way!
Yep, I second both the Spray N Rinse and the Meguiar`s Wheel brightener 4:1. I would probably lean towards WB if you know what you are doing (as you do) but SNR is great too!!!!

Iron-X paste should be in every detailers tool box for BMWs and Mercedes-Benz ugly details. Unfortunately it has been out of stock(not really out of stock, no longer carried) here for a year or longer. I finally picked some more up on eBay at a good price. When you need it, you really need it.

If I remember correctly when I first started the detail I didn`t have any Iron X paste on hand. I actually came back the second day with the Iron X Paste.
I`ve added Spray N Rinse to my cabinet and it`s what I`ve been using on my own wheels. It doesn`t get any easier since my wheels never get too bad.
Agreed. I still have 2 bottles in my arsenal just in case I run into stubborn wheels again.

I bought two bottles(of Iron-X) when I finally found it. For me it`s the "bigger hammer" in my tool box. It just makes life easier. On very dirty wheels Britemax Degreaser is also a great product to loosen up everything, full strength.
