It is common for WRXs to be raced here in Australia. At the club level they are known as supersprints. I took some photos earlier this year of a supersprint. Here is the link:

The pb series of photos was a car I was shotting when the driver kindly decided to lose it and end up in the dirt trap right in front of me. In pb3 you can still see the dirt being thrown up just before the car stopped.
