I couldn’t help myself over the past week. Special thanks to Mary B for reassuring me about the Sonus towels. They are quite nice.

Buying towels by the case makes so much sense. If you are starting out and think you are going to be doing detailing even as a hobby, find a towel you like a buy a case of them and don’t look back. I wish someone would have said this to me. It would have saved me so much money. A case of good 350-400 gsm towels. I find myself looking at the prices on Alibaba.com and crying about how much I pay per towel. I bought 50 good ones 2 years ago and wish I had bought 150 at a discount. Towels don’t go bad and I doubt someone will come up with a “revolutionary” microfiber towel. If you are buying “onesies and twosies” for towels you are doing it wrong. Wholesale is .50-.75 by the time it gets to us it’s $4-$5. Ouch.

Agreed with this, I would also add to do diligent research and buy the towels on the market that one finds are best for their desires.

Oh, and I think that really nice towels should be reserved for exterior only. There is no need to buy an expensive towel for wheels (except gloss black), door jams, or interior work, the Yellow Kirkland brand are sufficient for not nice type work.

Something like a Gold Plush is a good all around towel as it has a long nap side and a short nap side. Then something a little more plush for rinseless and final buff duties. I think I could get by with just those two types of towels. It’s nice to have specialized glass towels, but I find myself grabbing most any towel for glass with no problems.

I have the same one. Running strong for over 4 yrs. Only used distilled water and never had any issues. It has its limits but I love mine.

For the price it`s a great machine. I love using steam for engines, really grimey interiors and wheel wells/ calipers etc.

That looks tiny! I`ve been eyeing one for like 2 years. Just don`t see a "need" for it yet.

Will you also try this to steam clothes?
