I tried one of the amazon PTG and it was horrible. I was thinking of that eclometer one or the delfesko I think they are the same price. You have any thoughts of one vs the other.

The best bang for the buck is the Defelsko DFT Combo (I have this). It reads both ferrous and non-ferrous. I bought mine used off eBay a long time ago an saved a few hundred, after two years it still works great. This year I`ll be upgrading to a Defelsko 200B Advanced, I finally need something that reads Carbon and other composites.

Thanks for the info. Now I`ve read the 200b doesn`t like metal substrates. So will you just keep both then. I plan on picking up the advanced one down the road. Some day I`ll make money on detailing but for now the money just goes back into it. Which I guess isn`t a bad thing.

It depends on few factors, here`s why.

You are correct the 200 does not read metal substrates. You do need a gauge like the dft combo as well. For me, I will hold on to my combo until I can switch up to the 6000 FNS1 Advanced.

The reason for the advanced models is that you can identify and read individual layers (Ie. Primer, Paint, Clear). Having that knowledge is paramount when dealing with automobiles where one panel can cost more than most used cars.

How do you like diver? Do you just use it as a cleaner/protectant or over rain?

i have no idea why anyone would need "rain" when diver works so good

i use it as a protectant, not cleaner although it can do some solid cleaning
