Re: Any big Chemical Guys followers out there
Used many of their products haven`t purchased in years, I just can`t take all the hype products are just meh. Butter wet wax is the worst wax I have ever tried. I think many of us started out using their stuff but when we became more educated about detailing products we move on.

Re: Any big Chemical Guys followers out there
I definitely have gallons form my original purchase 6 years ago sitting around as well. Most their products are just relabeled or watered down meh. I still stick with citrus wash though. Hex logic pads are great for getting to know foam but they do wear down very fast, too fast for my liking.
I stick with 1Z, Sonax, Car-pro, Optimum some Blackfire and megs.
For equipment and tools, you`ll realize some specialized stuff is worth it while others are such a waste.
Re: Any big Chemical Guys followers out there
Over the past several years I`ve tried numerous Chemical Guy`s products. I normally buy them by the gallon. I really like Blacklight and have used a lot of the P-40 polish. I love their soaps and have went through several gallons of Honeydew Foam soap, the suds last forever and it smells great. Most all of their scents will outlast most other brands. I`ve never tried their high end wax, but who could afford them and would you really want to try them even if you could afford the price? Their compounds and polishes work as advertised. Overall I have been happy with all their products. I agree with the over hype and marketing attempts, but they do make a really good product.
Re: Any big Chemical Guys followers out there
I don`t have experience with them first hand but I do read a lot of reviews and forums and none have been that great about them. I will spend my money on products that have better reviews. They do advertise like crazy and make stuff look flashy on their social media accounts.

Wow a lot of people are bashing CG products. Maybe they made turtle wax and Rain X too! :rofl

This is funny to me, because I can remember threads that went on for days back several, several years ago where the argument was that Chemical Guys / Warner Chemicals made everyone else`s products. My, how time flies...
Also - Duragloss made Zaino.

No one is bashing them, we are just stating how they work or do not work for us... :)

Re: Any big Chemical Guys followers out there
Some of their products are good, are lot of their products are not. That`s the problem, even a broken clock will tell the right time twice a day. Maybe sometimes they put out some good stuff despite themselves.
I think in categories of traditional products, you can find one or two things they make that is pretty good. The problem is, there is 10 other things they make in that category that sucks.
Now, I think the guy that made / makes their videos has his own product company called "Mastersons"... I was looking at the label and it says something like - "Since 1947"...
Dunno how this company has been making detailing stuff since 1947...Has anyone heard of them prior to 2016???
Re: Any big Chemical Guys followers out there
My comments on CG products....
1. Maxi Suds - a diluted version of Adam`s old pink soap, rated dilution optimistic
2. Nonsense - dilution optimistic but works as a general purpose no scent disinfectant type cleaner
3. Inner Clean - like this except for the scent
4. Bare Bones - no fan of the oily dressings
5. Speed Wipe - really liked the scent (supposedly it was changed when relabeled), decent basic detailer
6. Meticulous Matte Detailer - works as specified but very pricey
7. V7 - like the orange scent, did not really like it that much as a spray wax. I use it as a basic detailer (jambs, etc)
8. VRP - This is my favorite CG product. It spreads well and leaves a nice finish. Durability is average.
9. CG Window Cleaner - nothing special
10. Stripper Scent - perfumey, do not like the scent but does not last long either
11. Mr. Pink, optimistic dilution, at higher concentrations actually seem to be one of their "normal" (lubricity, foam) soaps.
12. CG Citrus and Glass - strong cleaning but separates quickly so has to be shaken. Use it often 1 oz to 1 gallon for strong cleaning.

Read Ronk`s replies. He`s roasting them relentlessly :burn: Glad you can be honest about products on this forum. I used to be on Meguiars forum a lot and if you have any honest opinion about any product from any company that doesn`t work you get shot down. I like to read real use reviews of products before deciding what to buy so it doesn`t end up being a waste of time and money.
