    Waxedshine WS12 Polisher quick thoughts...

I really like the idea of a 12mm polisher. More versatile than the larger throws, yet still a larger throw then your standard 8mm non-gear driven DA. I thought the Rupes Duetto(12mm orbit) was under-powered, so I wanted to give the WS12 a shot because it has a larger motor. I really like the body/ergonomics of the WS12, although, I like the Duetto`s even more. The WS12 spins up to 4800 OPM`s at MAX speed, which I think is a tad too little, BUT, it kept spinning when significant pressure was applied! Better torque than the Duetto! The WS12, when paired with a MF cutting pad and quality compound corrects a lot better than most people think! Love it!! The WS12 is very smooth. I`ve been an avid Flex 3401 user, but that might be changing with the WS12. After polishing a whole car with the 3401, I`m dead tired. The WS12 takes a lot less energy. All in all, I`m diggin` this polisher. If Rupes comes out with an MKII Duetto, I`ll be on it!!!.......

It sure looks like a Boss 15 on the exterior--why not just wait for a sale and get the Boss 15 for almost the same price with a 900watt motor and get the lifetime warranty? I can`t believe it`s any smoother and easier to use than the Boss.

It`s modeled off the head of a Rupes and body of a Flex 3401, I don`t think it looks anymore like the BOSS then it does a Rupes.

Wow that really surprises me. I`ve been very happy with the performance of mine. What was it about the Boss 15 you didn`t like??

Interesting... I think there is a sweet spot @ 12mm. Just a hunch though, nothing more. I tried the Duetto @ SEMA and it just didn`t have the power (most likely didn`t have the washer mod.) Was hoping Rupes came out with a Duetto Mark II.... but I think WS12 might be the ticket for now. Hmm...

Will it not be long before we see these polishers from Anhui Maxshine Auto Products Trading Co., Ltd. at Harbor Freight??
I was REALLY interested in the BOSS15 after Rasky`s approval and endorsement, but now I may wait for more "cost effective" (AKA, cheaper) options starting to appear on this forum.

Everyone here (well, at least I do) wants to know what specifically you did not like about the BOSS 15 that caused you to sell it (because I assume you needed the money to buy the polisher in this post)?? Don`t leave us hanging in unbridled suspense!

I don`t want to speak for Mark but I believe he expected/wanted more power from the tool.

Very good polisher. Smooth and lots of torque. I wish it had a bit more OPM at top speed, but it`s not a big deal. I`ve had the Duetto and this 12mm polisher and I like this one better for sure.
