Doctor Shine 2013 Chevy Tahoe Chiefs Vehicle

I had the honor to take care of one of Long Island`s Bravest. All jobs get extra attention, but this car got treated better than mine. I think when its all said and done we put about 45 man hours into this truck. The fire district certainly didn`t pay for full correction, coating, and 45 man hours, but we didn`t care. Sometimes its not always about the $$

Because of the nature of this truck, this one was one of the harder jobs we have ever done. The decals had to be worked around, then dealt with on their own as they too were swirled all over. Upon my recommendation, the fire department also replaced the tires as they were worn to an unsafe manner. One of our best transformations to say the least. When the Chief picked up his truck, he just gave us a hug and said holy sh** !

    Steamed

    Swirls

All lenses were clayed and restored for clarity

    All scratches were removed

Interior was steamed, carpets dyed, GTechniq Fabric Waterproofing, and Cockpit was Pinnacle Leather and Vinyl Coated

Car was compounded via G15 G21 and Flex PE8 using Pinnacle Advanced Compound and then polished using Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish.

Vehicle was then coated via OptiGloss and 22ple final coat

Running boards were topped with solution finish and prepped for final delivery

Thanks for viewing, comments always appreciated.

Looks great. You said you removed swirls from the decals differently from the paint. Would you please elaborate on that process for me? Thanks.

Sure. Instead of going over the decals we initially went around them. The. We used a 1" Flex PE8 I between the decals and paint. On the decals themselves I used a G15 and went directly over the decal tape versus paint to decal to avoid the possibility of the decal lifting, and wax residue to enter the lip. It took approx 90-120 min a panel as it required many many passes to finally remove all the damage. But I`d say we corrected 95% of the scratches and swirls. The black decal tape was badly swirled and scratched as well, but we could only remove about 80% of that damage.

Chief/Colonel Has Arrived On Scene is a military term. I assume it has made the jump?
