Now that I like. Cedar really gives it a nice, warm, rich look. Forget vinyl siding!

Wow, looking good! Definitley different building practices here in the states, it owuld just be to expensive to use materials like cedar for most builds. Are you planning to insulate? What about lighting?

It was expensive to use ceder to be honest about 1000 British pounds.

Light wise, about 2 halogen downlighters per truss.

    3 double sockets maybe 4.

No flourescents due to ceiling height.

The roof is proving a problem due to the pitch on the roof.

The cedar siding is quite striking. Nice choice. It will weather well and is quite durable.

This is great fun watching your progress. Best of luck. :woot2:

    Thanks very much.

I am going to have to treat the ceder as I hate the silvering effect that comes about after weathering.

Next on the list is electrical once the ceder has been finished.

Some more pics here, they are not great due to the weather being very overcast and it was starting to get quite dark.

The door should be ordered by now so the ceder lining will be finished off, the space between the roof and frame will be covered with plywood and then ceder lined.

After the ceder is finished the electricity will be run in, plans so far are two downlighters for each truss, and probably 3 double sockets.

No flourescents because once the roof is plasterboarded it is quite low and flourescent tubes would probably come in contact with my head! haha.

Ya, the ceiling looks a little low. Yet, all the work is done on the ground so enjoy the space!!

Look forward to your pic`s as the garage approaches completion. Just remember you cannot have enough electrical.

Great, the oils in the cedar will eat the galvanized nails in about 1 year here in NC.

Really, thats good information to know if we plan to replace any if they deteriorate!

We are planning on protecting the wood as it stains and stained wood isn`t a good look! lol.

Can you get Silkkens stains in your area, or Cabots? Both make great stains for cedar in transparent and semi-transpartent as well as a clear.

Ill look into that, it would be nice to keep the grain in full view since it is a nice looking piece of wood.

    Nice rotty btw!
