What about switching to these wheels?

    Current setup
    Hellcat replicas in gloss black
    20x9 with 245s (front)
    20x10 with 305 (rear)
Would keep same or do 20x10.5 in back for future need to run 335 after I crack the 6.1 open

They didn`t offer black chrome until now. And I have a desire to swap as I`m sure I can remove, polish and coat these and get most of my $ back.

    now

    Potential new buy:
I even like the red painted pin stripe too

    What do you all think?

I used to have black chrome stock Alcoas and loved them
only pic i could find in a pinch

No No No they look to cheap stock for a car of this caliber, but of course i`m more preferable to 7-9 spoke wheels

Theyd still be the hellcat style spokes

    Just not sure

Maybe i should just tint the tails and turn signals and go all black

Mod bug is strong in me now that I passed on my new car chance.

305`s on a 10" seems like pushing it. Is that stock?

No, 255s on a 9 are stock in rear...my car skated too much with those...10s can hold 305s safely but you need 10.5 or 11 for 315, 335

Re: What about switching to these wheels?

I got friends that run 305s on Hellcat Wheels which are 9.5. That`s pushing it. And as an insurance adjuster I would take into account something like that if you wrecked your car.

Re: What about switching to these wheels?

512Detail- Noting what we all know about "opinions" ...I would *NOT*

-run the wheels with the red pinstripes
    -Tint the tails

Especially the latter. No way. Never. Lawsuit material there even if you`re OK with LEOs having an excuse to hassle you. Yeah, I know.."people do it all the time", they do it in the Panther Platform community too (Ford did it at the factory on Marauders and the owners complain about LE harassment). As an Insurance Adjuster...well, think you get my point Only takes *one* [individual] who says they couldn`t see your brake lights...

I`m too old and conservative in my tastes to provide meaningful advice on ?which wheels? other than nixing the pinstripes (just look cheap to me in a teenage sort of way).

so you think the gloss black (same wheels) are teenage cheap too? well they ARE cheap but hell I`m not going to spend 2500+ on WELDS or anything

I decided to keep the gloss black

I really like them when they are clean

Re: What about switching to these wheels?

512Detail- Heh heh, gee...my choice of words sure sounds, uhm....nice and considerate, huh?!?

But no, the gloss black looks OK to me, it`s that pinstripe that I simply *hate* for some reason.

I`ve grown to generally not like the "all black" look (black paint and wheels) but on your car, for some reason, it seems fine to me.

If I were gonna split hairs, I`d go with a level of gloss/etc. that`s *not* too similar to the paint. I`d like a slight but noticeable contrast between the two blacks, but agan that`s just me and [INSERT bit about opinions]. Heh heh, if I were you I`d kick this idea around for a while and then just *drop it* for a longer while...see what you think when you revisit the topic with Fresh Eyes. Might surprise you, might merely confirm that you were right the first time..I`ve had it go both ways and it`s better to go through that *before* you spend the money

Re: What about switching to these wheels?

I`m gonna pass. my dream wheels are these

    VPS-306 – Vossen Forged

gloss black or possibly even bronze - but $$$

I passed on CV3s when I got my hellcat replicas because I wanted to save money for slicks/wheels (which I ended up never using and selling)

Re: What about switching to these wheels?

512Detail- I might worry a little about how the spokes on those protrude from the edge of the rim, but they do look nice and IMO it`s often best to wait and buy what you *really* want.

Re: What about switching to these wheels?

I`m kind of over the black on black look. In my opinion silver or gunmetal may be a better alternative to the black wheels. It will add some contrast as well. They will also look larger in a lighter color. That is one thing I disliked when I had black wheels. They always looked to small.

I would definitely look into a nice concave wheel.
