    Free Garage Floor

Yea, I`m sure you read the title and went "what?" So, my garage has a gravel floor, but it`s not in my budget right now for a concrete floor. This week we were working in a facility that was being decommissioned and all the conveyors were being torn out. I saw a guy cutting the belts and tossing them off the side. In the best Spanish I could muster I asked him what he was going to do with it. He pointed to the dumpster. Oh Hell, game on!

Had 3 rolls in there approx 25-30` each... I love having a truck... I think the original price of that much belt is well over twice as much as the truck cost, lol.

Laid out and cut at 18`

All laid down. I put the rubber side down against the stone and left the low friction carpeted side up.

I`m thinking of outdoor carpet for my garage. The cement is so gouged and pitted that I basically need a complete redo, to the tune of $1200.

    Very innovative, Nizmo !
    That floor looks great !
Yeah, more people need to think of ways to recycle things than just heave them out..
That stuff could be a really nice BedLiner for your truck too -

And you can remove and power wash if you get oil or other debris on the carpet/ rubber. Easier on your feet and back than concrete. Warmer too. Nice repurposing, great idea

Sure can; water and solvent resistant. I`ve seen some nasty stuff get spilled on them before with no ill effects. The only disadvantage to it is I can`t do any welding without a fire blanket now, but hey, it`s an ok tradeoff!
