Thinking about getting around to painting my garage walls soon here. For those of you that have done this already, what brand and type of paint/primer did you use?

I recently "did" my garage see thread. -> Epoxy Garage Flooring
I used Sherwin-Williams exterior paint & it didn`t need a primer.
Exterior paint on the garage walls is better for temps, mold etc.

Thanks for the link. Garage looks awesome....love the color scheme
I painted my garage walls four years ago with Valspar Exterior Paint (it was the top of the line, but can`t remember exact name) and there was no need for a primer. I wash my car in the garage so the walls get wet from time to time, but it still looks great after 4 years. My cabinets are white and I used a very light grey and it makes the garage very bright.

I`m nornally all about Sherwin paint, but I`ve got about $150 in gift cards to lowes, so I`ve been looking at the Valspar Duramax paint
What sheen did you guys go with? I`m thinking either satin or semi
I went with Satin since the semi gloss shows every defect in the wall. Haven`t had any problems and it cleans up well.

I used a gliden semi gloss. It was great as shortly after painting I had a can of coke explode. Wiped clean and easy.
My walls are textured same as ceiling and I went gloss finish wipes down so easy nothing really sticks to it and reflect light better.
I like semi for most painting jobs. It doesn`t look that shiny on the wall and cleans up nicely. It can depend on what you`re painting over. Bare drywall will suck up the shine of even gloss but if you`re going over a wall that`s been painted several times, semi can even look shinier. A decent quality paint should hold up to some level of scrubbing.
What are the garage walls made of, plaster, drywall block?
drywall
I`m a Sherwin Williams guy. They have an excellant drywall primer and Promar 400 semi gloss for top coat. When I built this house painters refused to use lowes or home Depot paint. If we insisted the price was double because it would take twice the work to achieve enough coats to achieve my wives color. The gift cards are nice but your labor isn`t free. Personally I would go to Sherwin Williams and use the gift cards for something else. Ask SW if they have a contractor discount, they will use a painters code that does a large volume and extend that discount to you. My time is valuable, that said I wanna do the least amount of coats. I had my walls and ceilings done in semi-gloss .
