I`m getting ready to do my garage floor and I`m interested in getting flake epoxy installed.

Should I add a bit of non-slip grit so it`s not "slippery when wet"?

Any feedback or thoughts would be appreciated.

I was thinking something along this line in White/Black/Grey and a touch of burnt orange

I posted a few decent links here:

You definitely want to do your homework. Garage journal has a ton of info. I personally went without the non slip but use a lot of flakes, it added a good bit of texture but is still pretty easy to clean.

I do not want to ride onto the epoxy and have any problems with it being slippery. I`m looking forward to have a "clean" work floor.

The main reason I`m thinking about adding non-slip powder to the mix is when riding the motorcycles into the garage from the rain.

As Dan mentioned , the garage journal forum has reviewd and discussed any type of coating on the market. They have a ton of info available. If it`s not on their then it hasn`t been made yet.

What did you end up doing? Before after shots?

I did a lot of research on "The Garage Journal" and went with Sherwin Willams epoxies with a custom color flakes blend. I added some fine ground glass to the first coat of clear. the final product wound up smooth enough to mop or hose down and hit with a leaf blower yet coarse enough to ride motorcycles into during pouring rain and not slip.

    Here is a before shot.

Painted the walls black and grey/silver with a premium exterior paint (water and mildew resistant)

The concrete floor was ground, sanded and any cracks filled.

While I was at it I also did the driveway.

Then it was soaked and washed with muratic acid twice.

Diamond plate chair rail and close-able AC Vent added to air handler.

Driveway completed with two coats of sealer.

    First coat of nickel epoxy

Color flakes added to second bottom coat.

Flakes being rolled (pressed) into the second coat.

Clear coat applied with light sprinkles of ground glass.

Top clear coat being applied. Needs 3-4 days to dry.

Wow, the driveway looks great. I see you went ground the surface as well, you should have no issues, at least inside. Definitely keep us up to date on the outside stuff, interested to see how it does long term.

    Left side cabinets being installed

Both sides of the cabinets are now installed. I still need to take pics of the right side done.

This IS in the "Man Cave" section...so here`s a little "Photo Chopping" I did while I was waiting for the floor to dry.
