Back in this thread I claimed that I wouldn`t be dumping much more energy into my current garage as I`m still living with my parents and I wanted to save the energy for my own place.

Turns out my dad wanted the garage re-done so I was appointed to get it done. After three weeks of hard work and interesting combinations of swear words, we finished tonight around 10:45 and all told I earned about $900. :woot: My friends were a great help and if it hadn`t been for them, this project would not have gotten done.

    Here is what we accomplished:

    - Tear down old shelves

    - Dump run (or two)

    - Paint inside of doors, all walls and ceiling

    - Paint (epoxy) floor

    - New cabinets

    - New T8 florescent lights

    - Black switches/sockets with stainless steel surrounds

    - Add an edge molding around the baseboard

Before - Grungy, nasty, messy, never-painted and rarely cleaned 14-year old garage. :soscared:

    Just a disaster zone, really.

And just awful lighting, especially for detailing.

After - I hardly recognize the place. It`s definitely more professional-looking now. :woot2:

The stereo looks much more at home here than on the ugly ol` steel and particle-board shelves.

The rear of the garage...the traffic light was absent from the above photo due to it being in the way.

    Thanks for looking! :heelclick

Thanks! I bought the cabinets at Home Depot and while they aren`t on the website, they are Do+Able brand cabinets. Very nice finish and seems to be well-built.

    For everything was about $670.

Edit: Keep in mind, Oregon doesn`t have sales tax so you`ll have to calculate accordingly for Michigan.

Great job. Looks more like a hospital than a garage. By that I mean it`s super clean looking.

Beautiful! I`ve never seen a garage that looks better than the insides of a house.

I used Griot`s Garage Industrial Non-Lifting Floor Paint. We had the bare concrete shot-blasted to give it a rough texture and provide a good bond for the epoxy to stick to.

We put on two coats of the paint; the first coat was put on pretty thick and allowed to set for 48 hours before applying the second coat. That coat cured for the suggested four days before seeing car traffic. So far so good.
