Just picked up a Canon SX110 IS today. I`m looking for some good websites that will teach me the ins and outs of digital photography.

I remember someone posting it here before but cant seem to locate it.

There are the Canon forums. You can do a lot of learning there!

Are you looking for instruction on your camera or just composition in general?

There`s an excellent book by Bryan Peterson. I believe it`s called Learning to See Creatively. You can buy a used copy for a few bux...it`s worth its weight in gold.

Bryan Peterson`s books are VERY helpful... especially Understanding Exposure and Understanding Shutter Speed.

Nice link I love POTN, it`s where I learned pretty much everything.

Here`s another great site KenRockwell.com This guy knows his stuff pretty darn well.

(OP)-If I get a chance in the next few days i`ll pm you all the info I can find that really got me off on the right foot. Basically once you learn about your 3 major factors (Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO) you will really excel.

Best of luck and have a blast with your new camera!

^^ thanks in advance. look forward to learning new things. i`ve been taking just random pictures. i had my first encounter with a rattle snake, even snapped a shot of it too. standing 3-4 feet away from it will really have your heart racing.

I too am looking for a new camera. I looked at a Canon EOS and Powershot. I think both would serve the purpose. I just don`t know if I want to spend all the coin on the EOS. If I buy the Powershot, I could buy more detail equip the difference.:woot:

I`ve been playing with the camera a lot and have been taking great pictures. But if you`re considering getting an EOS, I say go for it. I believe it will be worth every penny. Then comes all the other lenses though.
