Hey everyone! I`m new here and I had a little question to ask.

I was driving up to my apartment complex parking lot and the Camry next to me refused to let me get over to pull in. When I finally got ahead of her, she sped up so fast I seriously thought she would rear end me. I pulled in as quickly as I could and as a result got some nice curb rash on my back right rim. I JUST got this car and even though the damage is very minimal, I`m obsessing over it.

I feel pretty confident that I can fix it myself using the sand, putty, paint method but I`m wondering what color wheel paint I need. I can`t post a pic or link but they`re just the stock 17" alloy wheels. Also, where exactly do I get the paint? Pep Boys?

    Thanks everyone!

To do it correctly, you`ll need to sand, putty, prime, spray basecoat, and spray clearcoat over the entire rim. You would buy about $450 in parts and equipment to do that.

But if you can deal with something that won`t last, get spray paint from an auto parts store. Just hold up cans of silver to your wheels until you find a close match.

If it bothers you that much buy a new take off rim off ebay, they are pretty common UNLESS you have a release series tC which we have the 05` Rls 1.0 with the coveted gun metal factory rims, I kringe when my daughters curbed those, but a lil touch up with a black marker and their good to go...

When I had that rash on my rims I tried to spray paint it but it didn`t turn out that good. I`m such a klutz in spray stuff so I just decided to buy off rims at ebay. Thank goodness i found that part.. some scion tc parts are rare and hard to find in ebay..
