An electric heater is the only thing I would recommend for you. Gas/propane heaters are used to heat up something outside, like a big tent or something.

I have the same thing as pl silverado, but it uses propane for fuel.

I have used it and works great the only thing to remember is you MUST leave a door or a window open a bit to get fresh air in.its a perfect solution for heating a cold garage quickly when you need it to wash or oil change etc.

Yes it`s getting cold here in Ohio too. I usually take all my stuff inside. Then lug it back to the truck to do a vehicle. Like this morning!

I use one of those small ceramic electric heaters. Of course I am in Nashville,TN, not Anderson. I can heat a two car garage fairly well with one of these heaters. Is your garage door insulated? Makes a hugh difference...

I was in our one car garage today working on one of our jeeps and my 1000watt Shop lights was keeping it toasty in there. Those things put off some serious light but they also put off a crap load of heat.

Well finished insulating the garage a couple of weeks ago, door not done yet. It has being cold, -25C some nights. I have 2 little ceramic heaters that are kept on low at night and it stays about 40F. Days i have a propane tank top 12000 btu heater. With the tank top and the 2 electric heaters on high, it takes about 30 minutes to reach 60F. Then use the electric to maintain it.

I received an indoor safe propane 16000 btu yesterday, but haven`t used it yet. I expect it should work even better, especially with the door insulated.

I was thinking about getting an electric heater that I can set to a temp where it controls when it turns on or off. I am currently in the process of having someone come out and blow insulation in all the walls and ceiling...:up

I`ve got the same one (`cept mine is Red) and paid about the same thing (got it on a end of season sale at Home Depot.

I run it in my 1 car garage and it heats that place up like it`s no body`s business no matter what temp it is outside and even with the doors open.

I`ve run it while I was doing body work and painting and was happy to have it this winter as I couldn`t get the work done without it, though it is too big for my garage.

I really need a bigger place.

Steck your spoiled. Very nice heater.

As already posted i am running various heaters in my garage. 2 small ceramics to keep the temp above 0 at night and to maintain once warm. I bought an IR 16000 BTU propane with oxygen sensor off EBay, $88 delivered. It works even better than the tank top.

Typically the bottom 2 feet would still be colder than to top 6 feet, the IR really helps.
