    My first go around

Hey everyone. I posted in the detailing 101 section with the thread titles Black paint cloudy after wax. Here is the link. I am sure some of you have read through this or glanced through it. http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/...after-wax.html

I received some great feed back and pictures were ask to be posted. After speaking with my father though I felt confident in myself to tackle this project and hopefully (fingers crossed) deliver a great product for the customer.

This will be my first job where I was contracted from an outside party besides family and close friends. After all was said and done both me and the customer were very pleased with the results.

She knew that before we even started there was a chance that she may need to consider a repaint on certain parts of the vehicle due to clear coat failure. I even researched and found that for her model year Honda had a recall on the paint for the Civic and would repaint certain panels for free.

    For the job I used:
    Maguire`s Car wash
    Turtle wax clay kit
Armor all wheel and tire cleaner
    Maguire`s UC
    Maguire`s Polish

    Turtle wax Black box:
    -Paint cleaner
    -Carnauba wax
    -Detail spray

Upon inspection the car was certainly very dirty. We see a lot of heavy swirl marks, water marks scratches, ALOT of bugs that seemed like that were baked on for a very long time.

After the inspection it was time to wash the car. After the wash some of the clarity and color started to come back. I followed by using the Clay on the entire car which further enhanced the color and clarity of the paint.

After the wash and Clay the car was polished using Maguire`s UC and then Maguire`s Polish. I apologize, There were not many pictures being taken after this.

Once the car was polished up to a nice shine I wiped the car down with the detail spray and began to use the Turtle wax paint cleaner followed by the Carnauba wax All the trim was brought back to life with some Back to Black. After 7 hours we had reached our limits of what I could do in one day due to rain moving in. so here is the finished product. Enjoy!

Some was done by hand. The small areas, as well as the paint cleaner and wax application.

The compounding and polish was all done with my old orbital polisher that was my dad`s. He passed it down to me and it has always done a great job.
